ADF Scale was approached by a customer requiring a robust solution for weighing heavy sandstone directly within a quarry environment. The result was a bespoke 8000kg weighing platform, designed as part of our industrial weighing systems in the UK.
The system needed to operate in very challenging conditions, including wet and uneven ground, while remaining fully portable. ADF engineered a raised base frame to prevent the platform from sitting in water, maintaining accuracy even in extreme weather. Forklift guides were built in, allowing the unit to be easily moved around the site.
With no access to mains power, the scale was designed to run from a large battery housed in a sealed enclosure, continuously charged via a solar panel. All electrical components were fully waterproof to ensure long-term reliability.
Two units were supplied and have been operating without issue, demonstrating the durability of this bespoke solution.
