ADF Scale was approached by a food-processing customer seeking a reliable, hygienic way to weigh large product bags. The solution was a bespoke suspended stainless steel weighing cross, designed as part of a custom-built weighing system in the West Midlands.
Due to strict hygiene standards, the unit had to be manufactured entirely from 316 grade stainless steel. In addition, limited headroom and specific accuracy requirements meant that a standard off-the-shelf solution would not be suitable.
ADF designed and built a fully bespoke system incorporating both the weighing mechanism and a rechargeable battery within the beam itself. The system transmits weight data via a radio link to a remote display, allowing operators to clearly view readings from a separate location.
To ensure uninterrupted production, a secondary battery pack was also supplied. This can be quickly swapped in, avoiding downtime in the event of a depleted battery.
The result is a highly practical, hygienic and reliable weighing solution that integrates seamlessly into the customer’s workflow.
